My Dear Colleagues
Faculty Professors, Employees, Staff and Workers
I am pleased to welcome all of you to the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, an academic edifice that is considered one of the most prestigious media faculties in Egypt and the Arab world. It is an academic edifice that exudes the values of excellence and leadership. We seek to be a beacon for the preparation of distinguished media cadres, based on our strategic vision which is to support its position and leadership as one of the most prestigious media faculties in the Arab world, in an effort to achieve a distinguished position at the international level.
The student is the focus of the educational process within the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, and the purpose of its existence. Based on this, we work to prepare a graduate equipped with theoretical and professional knowledge in the field of media in all its branches and specializations, enabling him to employ it in building himself and developing his society, so that the Faculty of Mass Communication achieves its mission, in which it is committed to preparing distinguished graduates in the various fields of media and qualifying them with advanced scientific, professional and technological qualifications that meet the needs of the labor market and the requirements of competition locally and globally, while raising the level of their commitment to social, professional and ethical responsibility towards the nation and societal issues, in addition to conducting scientific research related to society’s priorities, issues and basic problems.
The Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, has been keen to continue consolidating its position and mission, through a set of values that it has always adhered to in order to obtain a prestigious position and a high reputation, to be the most distinguished and the most creative in the fields of education, scientific research and community service. These are the values that the Faculty’s vision reflects, leadership through achieving an advanced competitive position compared to other faculties, excellence through ensuring the quality of the final outcomes of the educational process, and continuous development in performance in various aspects of work through a constant desire to keep pace with development in advanced societies.
Therefore, it was among the values of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, to embrace the “future outlook” by trying to anticipate modern developments in the fields of media and their applications in Egyptian society, in addition to democratizing the educational process by ensuring the participation of all parties related to the faculty in drawing up its policies and supporting academic freedom and research studies committed to the values, ethics and traditions of society, in addition to partnership and cooperation between the Faculty and various community institutions, whether journalistic or media, or other executive bodies in the state, and ending with governance by activating oversight of performance and ensuring transparency, justice and impartiality for any class at the expense of other classes.
At the end of my speech, I thank all the staff and students at the Faculty for their efforts to strive for quality and excellence, so that the Faculty of Mass Communication remains a beacon that shines light within us, illuminating the horizon, and carving in our souls vibrant letters of thanks and gratitude. My sincere greetings to you all.
In conclusion, we ask God Almighty to protect our country and our people from all harm.
