How to enroll in academic departments
English Section:
- An English language written exam of 50 marks in conducted.
- The student should have got at least 46 out of 50 in his/her high school English exam.
The highest graded 200 students are selected after the written exam; the submission should start in first week of September.
Radio and TV department:
- The date of the acceptance exam and the results are announced on the faculty website.
- The student should pass the oral exam conducted by the department professors committee.
- The student should get high grades in the following subjects:
• Arabic 1
• Arabic 2
• English 1
• English 2
• Introduction to Radio and TV
Journalism Department:
The 1st-grade student studies the introductory subjects for the three departments. After passing this grade, the student receives a form to fill in the subjects he/she would like to take according to his/her interest in them. Those who wish to join the journalism department should write it as a first desire, after which the department hold interviews with the students to select those to get enrolled in the department according to:
- The general information the student has.
- The extent of his/her knowledge of the current affairs on both the national and global level.
- The extent of his/her knowledge of the media and journalistic landscape in Egypt.
The Public Relations and advertising department:
The 1st-grade student studies the introductory subjects for the three departments. After passing this grade, the student receives a form to fill in the subjects he/she would like to take according to his/her interest in them. Those who wish to join the Public Relations and advertising department should write it as a first desire based on their accurate knowledge of their skills and capabilities in the field of Public Relations and advertising.
There are a set of skills and qualifications the students should have:
- A flexible open mentality capable of comprehending the various information and knowledge and learning the numerous communication skills.
- The ability to study and work in groups.
- The desire to study and work with an initiative and ability to offer creative ideas.
- The readiness to work and accomplish under pressure and in changing circumstances.
- Futuristic vision for one's professional careers in order to be able to select among the available opportunities in one's specialization.
