Establishing the center:

The center was established in 1996 as a special scientific research unit for consultations and training purposes with the guidance of Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University.

The Mission:

The mission of this center is to improve the quality of the scientific researches that deal with the relationship between women and media and the effects of media on the status of women in Egypt and the Arab world. Furthermore, the center tries to help the Egyptian women working in the field of media enhance their professional skills and enrich their cultural knowledge.

The Goals:  

1)    Improve the quality of the scientific researches that deal with the relationship between women and media and the effects of media on the status and roles of women in Egypt and the Arab world as well as provide the decision makers in media with the results of these researches.

2)     Help the Egyptian women working in the field of media enhance their professional skills and enrich their cultural knowledge through constant training.

3)    Provide an accurate and complete database that is constantly being updated with information about the status of women in media in the Arab world.

4)     Participate in the formulation of media policies for Egyptian and Arab women.

1)    The field of scientific researches and studies

2)    The field of education and community service

3)    The field of training.
