For three days: End of AQAS International Accreditation Visit to MCCU 

Today, Witnessed the conclusion of the activities of the visit of the delegation of the AQAS Foundation for international accreditation, which lasted for three days, in order to assess the status and quality systems in the Faculty of Mass Communication, marking its international accreditation, under the auspices of each of Prof. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, Prof. Dr. Hanan Gunaid, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, amidst the welcome and praise of the international team for what was done during the visit, which explored the educational and administrative systems and quality standards in its various educational, research and community activities within the Faculty of Mass Communication.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, welcomed the presentation of the Faculty of Mass Communication for the international accreditation file and what was done in the circumstances of the visit of the delegation of the AQAS Foundation for international accreditation to the Faculty of Mass Communication, explaining that the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University is a faculty that represents a guiding model for other faculties and is the basis of faculties of Media in the Arab world and the Middle East, and contributed to the establishment of many media colleges in Egypt and the Arab world.

Prof. Dr. El-Khosht explained that Cairo University is the first to lay the foundations of scientific research in the media field and is keen on continuous development to bridge the gap with the top ten universities in the world, pointing out that the university applies the critical thinking course to all faculties, which is extremely important, so that students possess a critical mentality and be able to distinguish between what is real and what is false in the media field, in addition to the university’s project to develop the mind, change ways of thinking and establish a new religious discourse.

During the activities of the third day, the visiting team was exposed to all the quality standards and systems followed by the Faculty of Mass Communication and the extent to which its educational systems keep up and update the professional work paths and the labor market after graduation in all its educational divisions, and the extent to which these research and educational activities relate to community activity.

For her part, Prof. Dr. Hanan Gunaid confirmed that the atmosphere of the visit on its third day did not differ from the previous two days of the AQAS team’s of German international accreditation for all quality systems facilitated by the Faculty and their ability to face the challenges of the labor market and their ability to compete within the university educational system. And the extent of the efficiency of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University at the local and Arab regional levels, as well as exploring what has been done in keeping up with and updating the quality standards that the Faculty of Mass Communication seeks to follow.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, indicated that the Faculty of Mass Communication applied for the international accreditation file after it was able to achieve all the points and requirements for applying for international accreditation, explaining that this comes in line with the vision and mission of the Faculty of Mass Communication and its continuous endeavor to develop its regional, local and Arab status and status to be among the ranks of mass media faculties.
