The Public Opinion Research Center at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, conducted an opinion poll aimed at monitoring the role of the Egyptian media in providing the Egyptian public with information and news about the Climate Summit in Egypt COP 27
The center applied the test to a sample of 1,500 individuals from the media audience, whose ages ranged from 15 years and over, in the period from November 17 to December 19, 2022.
The poll showed a number of important results, including that social media ranked first with a rate of 84.3% in the list of media outlets through which respondents followed the Climate Summit, followed by electronic news websites, then television channels, and then the websites of official institutions.
The results also highlighted the paper newspaper, Al-Youm7, in first place with a rate of 70.9%, among the most followed media outlets, followed by Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper in second place with a rate of 60.8%.
Prof. Dr Sahar Mustafa, Director of the Public Opinion Research Center at the Faculty of Mass Communication, indicated that the full results of the poll will be announced within the next few days.
