Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Muhammad OthmanAl-Khosht, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Howaida Mostafa, Dean ofthe Faculty of Mass Communication, the faculty hosted a representative groupfrom the University of Salzburg. The Salzburg delegation included Prof. Dr.Joseph Trappel, Head of Communications Studies Department at the University ofSalzburg, who was also accompanied by Prof. Dr. Hanan Badr, Professor at CairoUniversity and the Chair of the Public Spheres and Inequalities at the CommunicationStudies Department at the University of Salzburg.

The visit was organized by the Center ForInternational Media and Intercultural Communication (IMIC), under thesupervision of Dr. Alaa Fawzy, the Executive Director of the IMIC Center. Andthe visit was also arranged by the support of the IMIC coordinators.

“This visit represents an opportunity to open newhorizons for academic cooperation between Cairo University and the Universityof Salzburg through various activities such as arranging exchange programs across the faculty members,professors, researchers and undergraduates students. It opened discussions fororganizing workshops, tackling international topics across various areas ofcommunications, especially digital media,”

The delegation went on a tour around the faculty toget acquainted with the study system in the faculty, visiting the studios, labsand all the faculty departments. This was followed by a meeting between Prof.Trapple, the rest of the delegation and the Dean, accompanied by the Heads ofthe Departments, Units and Centers in the faculty.
