Cairo Media Conference discusses the role of digital transformation applications in sustainable development 

Dr. Mona Al-Hadidi: The conference is an opportunity to exchange benefits between researchers on sustainable development issues

Today, Monday, May 30, the Faculty of mass communications, Cairo University, organized the twelfth research session under the title "Digital transformation applications and their role in sustainable development", as part of the activities of the second day of the 27th International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Information, held under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University. Cairo, Dr. Howaida Mustafa, Dean of the College and President of the Conference, and the supervision of Dr. Wissam Nasr, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs and Secretary General of the Conference, and chaired the session, Dr. Mona Al-Hadidi (chair of the session), Dr. Iman Numan Gomaa (reviewed), and Dr. Nermin Al-Saber (rapporteur of the session).

At the beginning of the research session, the researchers made presentations that dealt with a review of the methodological aspects and a summary of the results of their studies. Samah El-Mohammadi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Media, Misr University for Science and Technology, an analytical and field study during the Russian and Ukrainian crisis, and included the impact of exposure to economic news published on websites during crises on citizens’ attitudes towards the government and their general mood, noting the increase in the level of interest in economic news in the recent period, and the increase in negative trends. And the spread of negative public mood towards the economic decisions of governments.
Dr. Ragaa Al-Ghamrawi, assistant professor at the Faculty of Language and Media, and Professor Ghada Abdel Hamid, chief programmer for Egyptian TV, also participated in a research paper on the role of the media in educating the public about smart cities to promote sustainable development. Recently, and during the session, they reviewed a documentary film that monitors the modern construction of the state to increase the citizen’s awareness of cities. Through the study, they found a low awareness of the Egyptian public about smart cities and the belief of many that these cities belong to a specific social class, and the participation of a group of artists in city advertisements confirms to the citizen his belief in the allocation of Cities of a particular class. 
Dr. Mahmoud Fawzy Rashad, teacher of public relations and advertising at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Misr University for Science and Technology, presented his field study entitled “Structural and human capital in clubs and its relationship to members’ trust.” The results of his study concluded that there is a direct relationship between structural and human capital indicators. 40 years and over is the age group most closely related to the media content related to this. 
Dr. Mona Al-Hadidi, professor of media, member of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation and chair of the session, concluded by thanking all the researchers participating in the twelfth research session, stressing the importance of the international scientific conference of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University and its role in providing an opportunity for everyone to exchange information, and called for the necessity of creating a national campaign whose goal is The call to win the support of citizens towards modern projects undertaken by the state.
In turn, Dr. Eman Noman Gomaa, Professor of Public Relations at the Faculty of Media, Cairo University, commented on the participating research, explaining that the research was characterized by methodological and theoretical rooting, and that the research topics appeared to have an important role in expressing the conference’s goal of sustainable development, noting that choosing the research topic shows the intelligence of researchers. Their awareness of the importance of issues related to the media’s handling of sustainable development efforts, and the increased interest related to raising media awareness of addressing the citizen’s vision regarding development issues 2030.

It is worth noting that the conference will be held on May 29-30, 2022, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, and headed by Prof. Howayda Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty of Information, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, in light of sustainable development plans. And under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wissam Nasr, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs and Secretary General of the Conference, with the participation of a number of Egyptian, Arab and foreign researchers, professors and media experts, and in partnership and research cooperation with the International Association for Communication ICA in the United States of America.
