Prof. Jehan Yousry: Online influencers seek to increase views and entertain audiences


The fourth session held within the activities of the first day of the twenty-eighth conference of the Faculty of Mass Comm., was entitled "Digital Media Content Makers"..
The session was chaired by Prof. Jehan Yousry, former dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, with the participation of Dr. Nashwa Akl, Professor of Radio and Television at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University (a commentator), and in the presence of the rapporteur, Dr. Eman Osama.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Jihan Yousri said that the digital content industry is a process aimed at creating texts, images or videos via the Internet, stressing that the makers of this type of media have become more widespread, until the term “influencers” appeared recently, with a basic motive and goal, which is seeking to increase the rate of views and entertainment and keeping pace with developments.
Dr. Hani Nadi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Media, Faculty of Specific Education, Minia University, discussed in the first research of the session the existence of some unqualified scientific practices in the digital arena, and this is done through non-specialists (influencers) and that they are unqualified people for media work.
Hani presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which is that the digital content producer must possess a set of professional skills necessary to achieve the greatest amount of credibility with the public, while striving to confront the chaos of the content industry in the digital environment through follow-up and setting controls to reduce content that lacks credibility. .

Dr. Nihad Mohamed Hassan, lecturer of visual communication at the Faculty of Mass Communication at Al-Ahram Canadian University, indicated in the second research of the session that the "Al-Watan" website made a virtual studio using Metaverse, adding that the format of the content will change dramatically not only in the content, but also in the way the content is displayed, This technology will also add to the media world an avatar announcer, virtual studios and 3D news.
Nihad warned of the damage that such techniques could cause in promoting false news, at a time when the public suffers from a lack of awareness and low knowledge in this environment, and perceptions of technological illiteracy, stressing the importance of journalists obtaining training opportunities and being willing to use them.
While Dr. Majid Ibrahim Hassan Al-Manzlawy, Lecturer of Journalism and Digital Publishing at the Faculty of Media and Communication Arts, Pharos University, spoke during the third research session about how to develop electronic newspaper websites from news content using drone journalism and how the return will be from using this type of journalism, as well as the existence of problems And restrictions limit the use of this technique in the Egyptian press.
Amira Abdel Moneim, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA University, explained, during the fourth research session, the challenges facing faculty members in using technology in the study and providing content commensurate with the ideas of the current generation, as the results indicated that the degree of awareness of the faculty member of the tools he uses in The lecture is related to the degree of experience and age.

Prof. Jihan Yusri stresses the need for researchers to adhere to the logical arrangement of the methodological aspects of scientific research, starting from the introduction, defining the research problem, then mentioning previous studies and commenting on them, presenting the research importance in points and not in lengthy paragraphs, as well as presenting the results in the form of points with an explanation of the most prominent results that have been reached and not Presenting the results in the form of a report, and not being satisfied with the use of foreign references only.
Dr. Iman Osama, rapporteur of the session, stressed the need for digital media content makers to adhere to the professional competencies necessary to achieve the greatest amount of credibility with the public, and for educational institutions to educate young people on the use of digital media education skills; This is to confront the chaos of the content industry in the current era, as well as to develop courses in media departments and colleges on the skills necessary to produce and present content in the digital media environment.
