Dr. Mohamed Mansour: There is no independent media apart from agendas


The Faculty of Mass Comm., Cairo University, organized the seventh research session entitled "Digital Media Technology and Content Industry", as part of the activities of the International Scientific Conference in its 28th edition, which kicked off on Sunday morning, May 7, under the title "Media Content Industry in the Digital Age: Mechanisms and Challenges".
The session was chaired by Prof. Walid Fathallah, Dr. Mohamed Mansour as commentator, Dr. Aya Muhammad Ali as rapporteur of the session, and Prof. Walid Fathallah started the session by praising the conference, its organizers, and the researchers participating in the scientific conference.
The research session began with Dr. Sahar Ahmed El-Sayed, a lecturer at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, presenting her research entitled "The Effectiveness of Official and Unofficial Institutions` Facebook Pages in Tourism Promotion to Egypt, A Comparative Analytical Study".




The researcher addressed the importance of contributing to the revitalization of tourism, pointing out that Egypt occupies a relatively late position in the ranking of tourist destinations.

Dr. Monia Ishak Ibrahim, Lecturer of Journalism and Digital Publishing at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Suez University, also participated in her scientific research entitled "The Dependence of Egyptian University Youth on Podcasts and Its Effects on Them: A Survey Study in Light of the Theory of Dependence on Media".
The study relied on the impact of the podcast on the media globally, its adoption by a large group of young people, and the impact of the podcast on them emotionally, intellectually and behaviorally.
Dr. Engy Lotfi Abdelaziz, a lecturer at the Department of Media, Faculty of Arts, Helwan University, discussed her research study, which was titled "Using podcast journalism in newsrooms in press institutions in light of the digital environment." The researcher indicated that the podcast is coming strongly in the future of digital media, and therefore interest in it increased in The recent period by press institutions, and the researcher recommended the need to launch a special unit for podcasts in press institutions to produce journalistic content and the need to develop its content and provide it visually.
The researcher, Hanaa El-Sayed, at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, presented a research study that discusses interactive forms in electronic journalism. It is a field study entitled "Interactivity in electronic journalism and its impact on the readability of paper journalism."
She also stressed the importance of highlighting the interaction in the electronic press and defining the relationship between it and the paper, and the need for the presence of a supervisory body on the electronic press and a syndicate of electronic journalists.
Dr. Mohamed Mansour, during the activities of the seventh session, discussed a set of points, the most prominent of which is the division of previous studies into an attempt and not variables, as well as justifying the choice of time frame, pointing out that the results must be formulated in a scientific methodological manner, and it is necessary to communicate with media institutions To find out whether the proposals can be applied and what is the method.

He continued, by asking a question: Is there an independent media, pointing out that there is no independent media away from agendas or capital? The Arab media must be governed by agendas, and he indicated that achieving all the hypotheses in any study must raise a question mark, adding that it is not necessary to create studies that are consistent with the studies of others, so we may differ, but we explain the reasons for the difference, pointing to the necessity of following the linguistic rules in discussing research.
