Today, Sunday, the Faculty of Mass Communication Cairo University is organizing a symposium entitled “Egyptian Women’s Efforts and Initiatives in Awareness of Climate Issues”, under the patronage of Prof Dr. Mohamed Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, Prof Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof Dr. Hanan Gunaid, Dean of the Faculty and under the supervision of Prof Dr. Soraya Al-Badawy.
It is worth mentioning that Cairo University, under the supervision of the President of the University, Dr. Mohamed Othman Elkhosht, participated in the Green Innovation Pavilion, which is held on the sidelines of the COP27 Climate Summit in the Green Zone and is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where Cairo University actively participated in the Cop27 Climate Conference within the framework of Egypt’s Vision 2030, which includes attention to all axes of sustainable development, and facing the climatic effects of climate change.
Cairo University’s strategy is to shift to fourth-generation universities, which focused on the environment as a core axis in the five-year plan, consolidating the university’s role in many development axes, stressing the keenness of the university’s educational and research plan in line with Egypt’s strategic vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. Therefore, it was natural for the university’s indicators to advance in international classifications related to the environmental dimension, the most important of which is the classification of Cairo University in the 239th place in the field of environmental impact within the QS Sustainability classification for 2022, and the university ranked 242 globally in the “UI Green Metric” global classification of universities Green environment friendly.
